We’ve decided to have an install fest to try to gain awareness and to hopefully bring new members to the club. Currently we have not been able to decide on a date or location but if you have an opinion let it be heard in the forums. We’re going to need some help from current members to get this thing off the ground. First of all, we need publicity, so please tell your friends, have your professors promote it, make up fliers, do whatever needs to be done. Be sure to mention the free food and Linux CD’s available. We also have some O’Reilly books that we’ll be raffling off to the people that show up. Next we need people to be able to help out that day with the installs. We’re planning to install FC 5 and Ubuntu 5.10 but you can always bring your own favorite distro. Also if anyone is interested we can hold some BoF sessions during the event, just reply with a topic and if possible a leader / presenter.
